Back in 2008, I was working as a tour guide for senior groups in
Prague. Thing is, I kept noticing the same problem over and over
— there simply wasn't reliable information about accessible
walking routes. Seniors would ask about places they could visit
without exhausting themselves, and I'd have to improvise or
admit I didn't know. That bothered me.
So I went back to school. Studied Tourism Management at Charles
University, focusing on accessibility standards and pathway
design. But honestly? The real education came from walking. I
started documenting routes myself — testing elevation changes,
checking surface conditions, finding the quiet spots with
benches and water fountains. Not just the tourist paths everyone
knows about.
Over the years, this turned into something bigger. I've
personally walked over 200 routes across Czech Republic. I've
collaborated with senior centers, regional tourism boards, and
accessibility organizations. And now, working with chiliblu
s.r.o., I translate all that field experience into guides and
resources that actually help people. That's what drives me —
knowing that a senior in Prague or South Moravia can pick up one
of my guides and explore confidently.
